Nica News

We are a little more than a week away from the first Just Coffee/On The Ground trip to Las Diosas and FEM. In tow, we have eleven fantastic people with varied backgrounds — all with one compelling common interest — women’s empowerment. All of the participants are working on fundraising for Las Diosas to assist the women of these coffee communities in their recovery from the coffee fungus that has devastated their coffee crops and now threatening their livelihoods. While we are there, we will visit coffee communities, meet with the cooperative’s leadership, learn about FEM &┬átheir empowerment programs and find how the women’s recovery projects are coming along.

If you are interested in On The Ground delegations please check out the OTG delegations website from time to time to get up to speed on upcoming trips. Currently, we are in the early stages of a Chiapas, Mexico delegation for January where we will visit communities involved in Project Chiapas – a project to bring clean water to coffee communities in the highlands. We will keep you in the loop as plans develop.

Thanks for all of your interest and support!
