This dark roast, single origin coffee comes to us from a new-to-us grower cooperative in Ethiopia, Kenissa Cooperative. Kenissa Cooperative is located just outside Agaro and processes beans from just over 300 farmers from surrounding villages. Our importer, Crop to Cup, visited them last year and was impressed with the cooperative’s attention to detail; from the cleanliness of their washing station to the individually labeled drying beds ensuring traceability from cherry through final milling. The Kenissa management is committed to helping these small farmers navigate the complicated world of getting their coffee to market, understanding the cooperative's value for improving the incomes and livelihoods of its members.
