Grab a bag of El Corazon and get spicy with your coffee!

What You Need:

  • Moka Pot
  • 1/2 tsp: cinnamon, cardamom, ground ginger
  • 2 tbs brown sugar
  • coffee

Using a Moka pot, place ½ tsp each of cinnamon, cardamom and ground ginger in the upper portion of the pot in addition to 2 tablespoons of brown sugar. If you don’t prefer as spicy of a brew (or as sweet) feel free to scale down. Brew as usual. Drink as a shot or mix with 4 oz. steamed milk. You can steam milk on the stove if you would like, but make sure to heat slowly as to avoid undesirable scalded milk flavor. There are multiple ways to froth milk at home! We find one of the best is an aerolatte, but make sure you froth only when the total liquid does not fill the glass entirely or else you will end up with a frothy mess all over your counter. You can also use a frother that resembles a mini French press that you can place the warm milk in and plunge up and down. Both of these devices are cheap and worth it to create frothy milk at home.

Variations:

  1. A teaspoon of molasses with the spices and sugar
  2. Drizzled over chocolate or vanilla ice cream
  3. Soaking chocolate or vanilla cake with the espresso and topping with homemade whipped cream.
